Its a known fact that Consumer versions of Windows get five years of mainstream support, and business versions get an additional five years of extended support.

Under these guidelines, mainstream support for Windows Vista is set to end in less than two months, on April 10, 2012

But, now Microsoft has come up with an extension of support for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

The Official Press Release    was issued in Microsoft Japan Website.

Later the change in the support dates were updated on  Microsoft US Website  

According to the new Support scheme, Customers with the most current Service Pack will get the support for 10 years.

Support end date for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are as follows:
Windows XP -- 8 Apr 2014
Windows Vista -- 11 Apr 2017
Windows 7 -- 14 Jan 2020
